I was in the process of researching hay bags for camping with our horses when I found the round bale net. This net helps keep the hay contained and slows down the aggressive feeder. We are in the process of trying a number of hay net type feeders. First, I would like to report on the hay bag for camping. We purchased three of the largest Nibble Nets from the manufacturer in Florida. The bags have a plastic back and bottom and a net front with 1 1/2 inch openings. We use these when the weather is really bad and hook them to the walls in our run-in shed. These nets are ideal for stabled horses.Next, we currently have two large bale nets both made in Canada. The first is Slow Bale Buddy by Buddy Incorporated, Bancroft, Ontario, Canada www.bigbalebuddy.com. The second net is from N.A.G Natural Alternative Grazers www.slowhayfeeder.com made in Armstrong, British Columbia. With three horses, we are getting a week from a 4x4 ft. round bale, whereas before the nets the bales lasted about four days.
