Had a lesson with Presley to day. I really enjoyed it. He is such a fine chap I want to be the best I can for him. For me we worked on position,so must keep practising that on and off pony. Then for him simple transitons and turns.

Well Bristol was a good training ground. Both Elvis and Presley were born in Wales. Both Father snd son were broken in by me in Joppa near Llanrhystud. Where mostly there would be one verichle in 20 mins to condend with. Pilning, Bristol gave us up to 5 cars every 3 mins. Bridges, well! There were under bridges over bridges railway bridges and tunnels. Lovely bridleways for miles long. We rode along the A38. Now E & P are well educated.

With much work booked the Boys have been my transport to work. Well done boys. They get me there, graze the grass which is a help, keep me company and then take me home. What good boys.

So to day The boys went solo hack down the foresty and back very boring really. The mist hasn't been clearing all day this past week or so. Not sure what to do with them tomorrow. The dentist will come Thursday so a good long stedy hack would be ideal. Contented ponies for dentist day would be nice.

There was one point in my ride yesterday when I thought Presley was not happy the going was tough and he was unsure where he was. (also tough for a not quite 4yr old) So having marked two mental toughs in my mind I was not suprised this morning when tack was produced Presley said 'No out for me today!' So I groomed him replated his mane, loved him then got Elvis ready, tacked up and took him to the gate to wash his tail and wait for Presley to understand the situation. Presley quickly settled so off I went. Off to see if I could tempt Val to see War Horse tonight. Well thats another story. Elvis was very good and we managed a couple of canters Stoped on the way back to make a couple of rolls for a disabled lady's lunch. All was well with her so off we went again arriving back to find all was well with Presley. Untacked Elvis and reunited the boys.

So yesterday off I went with the boys route in mind but do I go clockwise or anti? Well I went clockwise. Along the road and out on to the main road. The boys kept me busy in trot and before long we turned off right down a forestry track. A nice quite walk for a bit I thought, but no! the boys wanted to stay in trot. So we trotted a bit more. finnaly they began to relax so we could walk on a long rein. Another right and the boys were unsure where we were. Right again onto a tricky bridleway still in the forestry but not on a track. Very wet, boggy, and unknow to the boys. A gate and another right and back onto our regular route. The bridleway turns into a road so off we trotted again.

Part Two.
If Presley wasn’t biting Elvis he was biting my boot, at one point he bit the toe and pulled and nearly tipped me off. He pulled the left rein and we ended up in the left bank he bumped Elvis's quarters and we were on the right verge so naughty boy yet again kept me busy, entertained and on my toes the whole ride. Oh yes! a big buck came prior to our first trot on the way out and on the way back. Let me just say that we ride out on a quiet lane and both boys were very attentive when we did meet traffic. So to-day I am off out with the boys again riding Presley to give him the work and leading his Dad. A much better idea!

Hello, Yesterday I took the boys out. Just for a change I rode Elvis and lead his son Presley. I needed to go to the saw mill to pay for and order some shavings. I also took Landlady's payment for her too. Not having ridden Elvis for a month or more as I usually lead him from Presley, I knew this was going to be interesting. First Presley was confused as the tack went on his Dad. Then I struggled to get everything coordinated to mount, then, we were off! Elvis was a 'Star' ha! ha! (Just seen what I have put.) Presley was torment all the way. To be continued

Hi All, I got my boys out to day. We went to Charles and Charlie's I had my missed (for six weeks) chocolate fix. and coffee The boys have a nice time as they eat grass while I have coffee and chat. Then on the way home my intention was to go straight back where we turn left the boys intention is to go straight on!!! Not sure if it is because they want to stay out longer but it is not the first time they have done this. It may be perhaps that they don't like the homeward hill. But on other routes they sometimes do the same thing, when I want to turn for home they think another direction is preferable. It keeps me on my toes.

Well tis a bit like this, here in wet West Wales this time of year it is not the length of the day or the fact that it rains most days al that I can work around. The Big problem is the mist that comes off the sea or the cloud which hangs so low it is impossible to ride out. So the boys are not going out very often and not regularly at the moment.
