HA - the downpour lasted about an hour and completely flooded the road outside our house! Then the sun decided to come out again, so not so bad afterall. Hope tomorrow's better!

Can anyone remember the brand name of that fabulous "bath in a bottle" that was up for grabs on here not so long ago? With hose pipe ban here and an extremely grubby horse, thinking of treating Jay to some for his 15th birthday :0)

Thank you folks - off to hunt some down. We spent a good 1/2 hour + grooming him this morning, but the dirt is ingrained and never-ending lol!

Katie is paranoid Jay is lame again, or that something else is wrong with him (he's so calm and happy!!). We've trotted him up three times today, each time I filmed it so she could analyis it - he's not lame at all! Quite interesting to see the worry move from me to her. Now I can see how annoying it was for her lol.

Aw good to hear her worries were unfounded. But after what you've all been through its understandable x

Indeed it is. Bless her, she's worried Jay will snap when she gets back in the saddle! She's never really shown any emotion like this before, so in a way, it's quite nice.

Jay spent a whole day out in his field yesterday, with all his mates nearby - he was a very happy bunny (actually, he was a happy horsey, but you know what I mean!!).

Ooh excellent, will have a read :) Still bored, but the biting seems to be cured for now by feeding him before mucking out, he'll be a portly TB at this rate!

Haha! I think Jay's losing weight which isn't too bad at the mo, as long as it doesn't continue. He's on 11kg of hay a day + usually a little extra first thing + a small amount of hard feed. Difficult to get it all right isn't it?

Red is stacking it on and up to 462kg which is a record for him. If he gets too much over 480kg he'll have to go on a diet and dread that day as all he does is eat!!!!! Horses = difficult :D

Had to laugh this morning - I spent a long time giving Jay's stable a thorough clean out - 4 wheelbarrow loads. 3 full scary builder bags worth of straw for his new bedding then he stops munching his hay, turns to look at me and does that dreaded thing - lifts his tail and ... poops on the fresh bedding! Cheers!

Just back off hols and saw your message on my wall! Sorry to hear Jay is in the same place :( I've been on hols so haven't had to deal with his tantrums for a while! His feed is almost the same as it was, a little less alpha a oil as he refuses too eat masses of it and I've split his one feed into 2 instead. He wasn't eating as much hayledge as I would have liked at first, but is doing better now.
You'll be experimenting with stable toys same as me then.... At least you're allowed to take him out for a little, Red is totally stable bound until the 18th May at least and then we'll see :(

Hi Laura, welcome home, hope you had a relaxing hols. Jay seems to be quite happy in his stable but does like his morning 15 mins walk routine. He was getting quite full of himself to start with though - have to walk him in his bridle to keep him from pulling Katie around the place! We've been lucky enough to borrow a treat ball - he loves it! Looking to perhaps buy one for him as a birthday treat next month! 18th May isn't too far away now (the weeks fly by) - hopefully Red will be free to go out after that. I can't believe next Monday is 4 weeks already for us - next trot up and assessment. Take care. Elaine x
